Jockey's Ridge is the tallest sand dune in the Eastern U.S., and it's in Nags Head. It was an absolutely gloriously beautiful day - 50 degrees, light breeze, and bright sun. So obviously, I wanted to shoot black and white film, right? It may not seem like a natural choice for such a colorful and scenic location, but I love the shadow play, the contrast between light and dark, and also the monochromatic flatness of the open dunes versus the sky. Hope you enjoy. Pentax 645n, Acros 100, Indie Film Lab.
