The Hines Family
You just don't meet a couple like Whitney and Jesse very often. These are two of the nicest, most generous people you will find - in addition to being just plain awesome. Jesse was a professional surfer for 12 years and Whitney was a women's buyer at a local surf shop and is also a potter (she studied ceramics at UNCW). She made mugs for local coffee shops, along with custom orders, and as you will see, she has an amazing eye for design. Once Jesse quit pro surfing, they wanted to work together and eventually opened the Surfin' Spoon in Nags Head, NC - the cutest and tastiest frozen yogurt shop in the Outer Banks (and definitely my boys' favorite!) Their shop always feels like the hub of the beach, and no doubt that's because of Jesse and Whitney's warmth and commitment to their community. When we talked about a session to celebrate their son Bear's first birthday, I encouraged them to have it at their home in Kitty Hawk, since that is the most important and meaningful location for any family. Let me just say WOW - their home was incredible and not just because they have a great sense of style. It's because when you walk in their home, you are simply overcome with the feeling of being WELCOME...
The result of our time together is one of my favorite sessions yet. Thank you so much to the Hines family for being so warm and welcoming - it made for a great afternoon and what I hope are some meaningful and important images for their family.
