Ocracoke is a slice of heaven. This tiny island sits on the edge of the continent, accessible only by ferry. The majority of the island is Cape Hatteras National Seashore, which means it's deserted, pristine, and incredibly beautiful beaches. The village of Ocracoke is at the southern end of the 16 mile long island, and is the only place to find houses, B&B's, restaurants, shops and a grocery store. This was our second visit to the island and we stayed in an awesome old house on Howard Street, right in the heart of the village. Our days consisted of taking the puppy to the beach in the morning, coming home for lunch, lounging in the afternoons, walking into town for dinner on Silver Lake Harbor, and then heading back to the beach after dinner. If you ever decide to visit this place, I am pretty sure you will fall in love.
